Provides superior wetting characteristics compared to Union AlCu 6 Mn when welding AlCu alloys, the strength, on the other hand, is lower. Superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking where high-temperature properties are required. The weld metal is not suitable for anodizing for decorative purposes. Thorough cleaning of the workpiece bevels is necessary prior to welding.

Union AlSi 10 Cu 4

Solid wire for GMAW of AlCu alloys. Low melting point and excellent penetration characteristics. Provides superior wetting characteristics compared to Union AlCu 6 Mn when welding AlCu alloys, the strength, on the other hand, is lower. Superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking where high-temperature properties are required. The weld metal is not suitable for anodizing for decorative purposes. Thorough cleaning of the workpiece bevels is necessary prior to welding.

Union AlSi 12

Rods for GTAW of AlSi containing more than 10% Si. Very fluid weld pool. The weld metal is not suitable for anodizing. Pre-heating 150 – 200°C for plates > 15 mm.

Is used for aluminium-silicium casting alloy with a Si-content up to 12%. Good mechanical characteristics, excellent corrosion resistance and a low melting point ensure high-quality welding results.
