Binzel Contact Tip
Contact tips made of electrolytic copper (E-Cu) are the type of contact tip with the highest electrical conductivity. However, their soft structure significantly reduces their service life.
CuCrZr contact nozzles, thanks to the chromium and zirconium alloy elements they contain, are very hard and therefore suitable for higher thermal loads. Compared to E-Cu contact tips, their electrical conductivity is slightly lower, but this is not a significant factor for most processes. CuCrZr contact tips have a hardness of approximately 168 HV and can withstand temperatures of approximately 500°C. They are manufactured as standard contact nozzles for medium to high amperage ranges with low wear and high process load capacity, and are mainly used for water-cooled applications and robot welding.
